DOES ALCOHOL LEAD TO WEIGHT GAIN?

I get this question a lot, so I feel like it is time to break it down without all the science jargon.

-Alcohol has calories, 7 calories per gram. An additional problem is that they are empty calories providing your body with no nutritional benefits.

-Alcohol demands immediate attention when it enters the body. What this means is your fat metabolism will slow down by a dramatic rate until it is out of your system.

-Alcohol takes a while to fully process depending on volume, but during this time the calories that should have been digested are stored as actual body fat.

-It takes just about two shots or glasses of any alcohol to begin this process.

Summing it up: This does not mean completely stop alcohol consumption, just do so moderately. I would recommend isolating it to one day of the week. :)
